Websites, videos, classroom sites OH MY!

Today I was exposed to the idea of creating a video that portrays education and technology. I also saw what other teachers and schools have done with websites for their classrooms. It was nice to see how these sites can be used in a classroom so students can check on assignments, get announcements and more. I am excited to make a website for my future classroom because of the many possible implications.

Despite how useful all of these new tools are, I still can't help but feel a bit overwhelmed at this point. I hope that I will be able to feel confident in using everything so that I can make it effective for my future students. I am glad to be exposed to all this new technology, because it's important to me to be able to hold my own in the technological world.

  1. Jamie, I'm also still pretty overwhelmed with all this new stuff. I just keep telling myself it's unrealistic to master all of the information we have been given within only two weeks, but with time and practice throughout this next year we should be ready to go once we get into the classroom!

  2. That's a good point. I really think our work study positions at Job Corp will help us get used to technology and will be great for introducing us to smart boards. It will also be nice to see what the teachers we will be doing our student teaching with are currently doing in their classroom.

  3. I agree; I am feeling pretty overwhelmed. I really want to incorporate a lot of the tools we have learned about in class into my classroom, but am worried that I will not be able to find the time to do so! I am hoping that I can prioritize and still integrate technology into the classroom in the early stages of my teaching career.

  4. Rabyn, that's the problem there are so many great ideas and directions out there to go that we need to somehow pick through it all and decide what will work best for both ourselves and our students.
